After life ends, what comes next?

“What comes next?” stopped being someone else’s question. It became mine — the morning my mother sat me down on the couch to tell me that my older brother had been killed in a car accident. As the final words left her mouth, I cried out in pain, a pain I had never felt before.

That pain slowly turned into a deep sense of loss within my soul. Desperate for answers, I sincerely prayed for any meaning behind the tragedy. I was only twelve years old.

The answer didn’t come right away. Over time, my one question became many:

• Why am I here?
• Is this all there is?
• What happens when I die?

For the next twelve years, I lived recklessly. Surviving car and motorcycle accidents and a near-drowning finally woke me up to the answers I had asked for, and to the One who gave them to me: God.

This book explains how God answered those questions, one by one. Weaving Scripture together with my own story, it shows why the God of the Bible is trustworthy. By writing honestly about my failures, I show that for anyone who comes to Him by faith, God’s love and grace are sufficient to bring healing and peace.

I’m not a theologian, but I’ve spent over 40 years following God and studying His Word. My training as a mechanic taught me to break problems down and explain them step by step. That’s how I wrote this book: so anyone can pick it up and see for themselves why God just makes sense.
